After the cliffhanger ending of A World Without Heroes, Jason is back in the world he’s always known—yet for all his efforts to get home, he finds himself itching to return to Lyrian. Jason knows that the shocking truth he learned from Maldor is precious information that all of his friends in Lyrian, including Rachel, need if they have any hope of surviving and defeating the evil emperor.
Meanwhile, Rachel and the others have discovered new enemies—as well as new abilities that could turn the tide of the entire quest. And as soon as Jason succeeds in crossing over to Lyrian, he’s in more danger than ever. Once the group reunites, they strive to convince their most-needed ally to join the war and form a rebellion strong enough to triumph over Maldor. At the center of it all, Jason and Rachel realize what roles they’re meant to play—and the answers are as surprising as they are gripping.

As the second installment to the Beyonders trilogy, Brandon Mull does a fantastic job of improving and building up the world he so effortlessly created. Packed with imagination, detail and adventure, Seeds of Rebellion engages the reader in a magical world where the fight for freedom is the only way of survival. It is easy to fall in step with old and new characters and there's plenty of space for speculation of what each character's role is in their cause.
Personally, I am much more interested in seeing how the secondary characters develop from this story onwards, especially Ferrin and Nedwin. The prophetical ending did a good job of intriguing the reader for the final installment in the trilogy. Kudos to Mull for writing it superbly so that the ending felt like a true ending, not as an abrupt conclusion designed as a cliffhanger for, usually but not always, marketing purposes.

I look forward to reading the last book of the Beyonders trilogy and next spriing can't come quickly enough.
